An early Spring came to life with the whine of circular saws, pounding hammers and the beep, beep, beep of concrete mixers backing up to unload their weighty haul. The work was part of a new project aimed at upgrading uneven sidewalks and disabled entry access areas on the east side of the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources’ Goddard Building.  more »

Thirty-two CASNR students honored as Dean’s Scholars Award winners

Top academic standouts from Texas Tech’s College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources were recognized as Dean’s Scholars on Friday (Feb. 24) at a special ceremony held in the Southwest Collections’ Formby Room. Texas Tech University’s College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources honored six distinguished alumni on Monday (Feb. 20) at the university’s McKenzie-Merket Alumni Center. GALLERY: Crews lay groundwork for new sidewalks at Goddard Building

February was filled with the pounding of jackhammers as construction crews began the task of replacing uneven sidewalks and disabled entry access areas on the east side of the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources’ Goddard Building. Day-by-day the cement was splintered, loaded and taken away by a variety of compact bobcat skid steer loaders. The work is in conjunction with the construction of a new two-story tower facade going up just outside the CASNR Dean’s Office on the northwest corner of the building.  more »

Chancellor’s distinguished teaching, research awards go to CASNR leaders

Two standout faculty members with Texas Tech University’s College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources have been honored with Chancellor’s Council Distinguished Faculty Awards. Cynthia McKenney, the university’s Rockwell Professor in Horticulture in the Department of Plant and Soil Science, and Michael Ballou, an associate professor in the Department of Animal and Food Sciences and CASNR’s Associate Dean for Research, were honored during special ceremonies.  more »
